The HKOP Award in Printmaking was established in 2018 to encourage young printmaking talents. The award discovers emerging local printmakers and provides them with residency, funding, and support for creating their solo exhibitions. Recipient(s) will be granted the following:
- A free six-month residency at HKOP Print Lab, between September 2026 to April 2027
- Venue and technical support, with a material subsidy
- The opportunity to be paired with a mentor who will provide advice and support
- A venue for an exhibition between May and June 2027

Eligibility
- Hong Kong permanent resident
- Art-related degree from a higher education institution within the last five years
- Pursuing a career in printmaking in Hong Kong

Submission
Please submit the following materials to [email protected] with the subject line “Submission: HKOP Award in Printmaking 2026/27” on or before 11:59p.m. July 5, 2026, HKT.
- CV & Portfolio
○ There is no limit to the number of artworks as well as the techniques used
○ For each work, please provide the title, size, medium, edition size, year and image(s)
- Detailed exhibition proposal
○ No more than six pages
○ Include an artist statement (maximum 500 words)
○ Outline the exhibition theme, a tentative working timeline of the six-month residency and expected deliverables
Submission Guidelines
- All the documents should be in Word, PDF or PowerPoint format, unless artworks are videos
- DO NOT share files via links
- Only applications by email are considered valid
- Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered

Selection
Entries that comply with the open call guidelines will be reviewed by our assessment panel. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to present their exhibition proposals to the panel in an interview during July or August. Final results will be announced on Print Art Contemporary’s website and social media pages. Recipient(s) will also be notified individually. The award is expected to support no more than two recipients, and Print Art Contemporary reserves the right not to grant any awards.
