About

Mission & Vision

Print Art Contemporary stands as Hong Kong’s premier hub for print art innovation, preservation, and exchange. Our mission combines professional artistic excellence with community engagement, safeguarding and advancing Hong Kong’s print art heritage.

Forge the Future of Printmaking
Operating from our 4,000-square-foot professional print shop in Shek Kip Mei and gallery space in Central, Print Art Contemporary nurtures emerging talent and empower artists to build sustainable careers in printmaking. Our flagshipHKOP Award, established in 2018, has supported 16 local printmakers with residencies and solo exhibitions. We also invest in the future of printmaking through our Research Fellowship, dedicated to drive innovation in print technologies, while Open Press artist residencies revitalise and reimagine Hong Kong’s rich print art heritage for contemporary expression.

Engage the Community, Create Positive Impact
We believe in making printmaking universally accessible to everyone. Through initiatives like the Jockey Club Art with You programme, we have collaborated with diverse social welfare organisations, reaching over 480,000 people through exhibitions, art fairs, and workshops. Our tailored workshops and guided tours at Open Press empower the local community to actively participate in shaping the future of Hong Kong’s print art.

Connect Printmakers Worldwide
Print Art Contemporary serves as an international nexus for printmaking excellence and a catalyst for knowledge exchange worldwide. From our beginnings, we have welcomed renowned printmakers from around the globe, including Yoonmi Nam, Stephen Hoskins, and Wuon-Gean Ho, into our studio and gallery. Our partnership with the Centre for Fine Print Research to host IMPACT 11, a leading international printmaking conference, demonstrates our commitment to strengthening global artistic dialogue.
